To many people's surprise, one of the world's most exclusive resort is located in the Engadine. St Moritz have been home to the jet set for many years, and now it is your turn to share it with them. You don't have to go shopping in all of the expensive luxury goods boutiques, but it is fun to take a look and do a spot of window shopping. It could cost a little bit more to eat out, but not everything in St Moritz is ultra-expensive.

Not very far from St Moritz, you have the family resort of Scuol. This is very much a family resort which prides itself in offering good value for money self-catering accommodation. Access to the slopes is good, and the entire family can make the most of their time on the slopes. However, the real advantage of Scuol, is the excellent nurser, or starter runs which can be found in the resort.

We also have Zuoz. Once again this is a Engadine ski resort which has placed a lot of importance of attracting families over the years. Staying in, and dining out in, is relatively inexpensive and the resort offers excellent value for money for a family winter holiday.

Should you be in the mood for improving your skiing, or learning how to ski, you should check out Corvat. The resort has some of the best ski schools for both young and more mature skier in all of Europe, and many have learned how to ski in Corvat.

Best Things to See or Do in Ergadine

This is a large ski areas in Switzerland, and as with all larger ski areas in Europe, you would expect plenty of activities. Of course, there are some things that you should not leave the area without having tried.

Ergadine is a made up of a lower and upper part, and both locations have a lot of places for a visitor to the area to explore. The village of Guarda, located in the lower part of the area, is a postcard pretty Swiss village. A walk around the village, will give you a chance to explore the narrow streets, and take a look at the sgraffiti Italian influenced homes.

Even in the winter time, the Swiss National Park is worth a visit. Once in the park, it will feel like you are far away from civilisation, and if you are lucky, you will have a chance to see ibex, elks and even vultures. It is not something you would expect to town find in Switzerland, and the untouched snow scape will make you feel you are in Alaska.

Even St Moritz is worth a visit, and you don't need to spend a fortune to enjoy it. The town is divided into two parts, and in St Moritz-Bad, you will find thermal hot springs. On the other hand, if you like to see if you can spot anybody rich and famous, you should visit the other part of town called St Moritz-Dorf. The fantastic hotels are open to the general public, and you can always pop in for a hot chocolate to warm up.

The Bernina Pass may be another place you would like to visit. You can even take a ride on the Bernina Express for a show to experience riding on a train as it makes its way through metre high snow drifts during the winter. The train has excellent viewing cars, and a journey is a real treat for the senses.
